Yamaha Tenere 700 Under Evaluation for Indian Launch; Expected Arrival by Late 2025
The buzz around Yamaha launching the Tenere 700 in India has been circulating for quite some time now. This speculation gained further traction when the ADV was showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo held in January. Currently, the Tenere 700 is produced in Japan and France, with the Japan-manufactured version under consideration for India. This implies that it will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), which could impact pricing due to import duties.

The Tenere 700 is known for its rugged, straightforward approach to enduro riding and is one of the most eagerly awaited adventure bikes in India. The bike is powered by a 689cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine, delivering 72 bhp and 68 Nm of peak torque, and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. For its suspension, it features fully adjustable 43mm USD forks up front, and a mono-shock with preload and rebound damping adjustment at the rear. With a 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel fitted with wire-spoke rims, the bike is equipped with disc brakes on both ends. In terms of technology, the Tenere 700 boasts a 6.3-inch TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity via Yamaha’s Y-connect app, turn-by-turn navigation powered by Google Maps, and additional features. The bike also incorporates ride-by-wire technology, offering two riding modes—Sport and Explorer—and a selectable on/off traction control system.
If all goes as planned, the Yamaha Tenere 700 could be available in India by the end of this year, with an expected price range of Rs. 14-15 lakh (ex-showroom).
