Sales figures reveal the crowd favorites on Indian roads.
The competition among two-wheeler manufacturers in India remains intense, with major brands striving to reach every corner of the market. In March 2025, Hero MotoCorp surged ahead to once again become the country’s top-selling two-wheeler brand, overtaking Honda. Interestingly, all five companies in the top rankings recorded either an increase in sales or maintained steady figures compared to the previous year.
Hero MotoCorp Back on Top
After momentarily losing the lead to Honda in February 2025, Hero bounced back strongly in March, registering total sales of 5,49,604 units. This marks a 12% increase from the same month last year. The company sold 5,06,641 motorcycles and 42,973 scooters, reaffirming its dominance in the segment.
Honda Slides to Second Place
Honda finished second in March 2025 with total sales of 4,27,448 units, including 4,01,411 domestic and 26,037 export units. The ever-popular Activa scooter remains its top performer. Honda is also actively expanding its presence in the electric vehicle space, with upcoming models like the Activa e and QC1.
TVS Accelerates with Electric Vehicles
TVS Motor Company secured the third spot with 4,00,120 units sold in March 2025, a strong increase from 3,44,446 units a year ago. Its lineup included 1,96,734 motorcycles and 1,66,297 scooters. Notably, TVS’s electric segment recorded 26,935 units, reflecting an impressive 77% year-on-year growth—its strongest performing category.
Bajaj and Suzuki Complete the Top Five
Bajaj Auto maintained a steady performance with 3,15,732 units sold, showing minimal change from 3,13,885 units in March 2024. Meanwhile, Suzuki reported a milestone month, achieving its highest-ever monthly sales with 1,25,930 units, translating to a robust 21% growth compared to the previous year.
