Kawasaki has reintroduced the Versys-X 300 to the Indian market, positioning it in the compact adventure motorcycle category. Priced at ₹3.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the bike brings a premium option to the entry-level ADV touring space.
Drawing inspiration from its larger Versys counterparts, the Versys-X 300 showcases Kawasaki’s signature parallel-twin performance and sharp, adventure-ready styling. However, it steps into a highly competitive segment already occupied by popular models like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the KTM 390 Adventure. In comparison, the Versys-X 300 falls short on features and engine displacement, which may affect its appeal against better-equipped rivals.

Despite being attractively priced for a Kawasaki, the motorcycle comes at a premium of nearly ₹1 lakh over its closest competitors. At the heart of the Versys-X 300 is a 296cc, parallel-twin engine sourced from the Ninja 300, delivering 38.5 bhp at 11,500 rpm and 26.1 Nm of peak torque at 10,000 rpm. It’s paired with a six-speed gearbox and features an assist and slipper clutch for smoother performance. The engine is celebrated for its smooth operation and high-revving character.
The motorcycle rides on a combination of 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, though it misses out on tubeless tyres — a feature available on the 390 Adventure and optionally on the Himalayan 450. Tipping the scales at 184 kg, it offers a ground clearance of 180 mm, making it suitable for varied riding conditions.
