KTM is set to replace its 125 Duke and RC 125 with the all-new 160 Duke and RC 160. These upcoming models will be built on the existing KTM 200 platform, meaning the 160 Duke will adopt the second-generation design currently seen on the 200 Duke, while the RC 160 will follow the modern styling cues of the RC 200 and RC 390.
Both motorcycles will continue to feature KTM’s signature trellis frame chassis, paired with 43mm USD forks at the front and a monoshock suspension at the rear. Similar to their 200cc counterparts, the new 160cc models are expected to come with premium features such as dual-channel ABS and an LCD instrument cluster.

Powering the new models will be a reworked version of the KTM 200 Duke’s engine, likely producing around 19-20hp. This marks a significant upgrade over the outgoing 125cc motor, which generates 14.5hp. The increase in power will give KTM an edge over rivals like Yamaha, whose 155cc engine produces 18.4hp. However, the new models will still sit below the 200cc KTM bikes, which offer a much higher 25hp output.
In terms of pricing, KTM is expected to position the 160 Duke and RC 160 competitively against Yamaha’s offerings, which range from ₹1.69 lakh to ₹2.1 lakh (ex-showroom). However, considering that the current KTM 125 Duke is priced at ₹1.81 lakh and the RC 125 at ₹1.92 lakh, the new 160cc motorcycles are unlikely to be priced lower than Yamaha’s models.
The KTM 160 Duke and RC 160 are expected to launch by mid-2025, just ahead of the festive season. The RC 160 may debut alongside the Duke 160 or follow shortly after. This upgrade will be a welcome change for entry-level KTM buyers, offering more performance and features for their money.
