KTM is gearing up to introduce the 390 Enduro R in India on April 11. This off-road-oriented motorcycle shares much of its architecture with the recently updated KTM 390 Adventure.

Key Highlights:
Will compete with the Kawasaki KLX230
Comes with adjustable suspension and 21/18-inch spoke wheels
Expected to be priced below the top-end 390 Adventure
Under the hood, the 390 Enduro R features the well-known 399cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, delivering 46hp and 39Nm of torque — the same figures seen on the 390 Duke and 390 Adventure. It also shares its main frame and swingarm with the latest-generation 390 Adventure.
In keeping with its off-road focus, the bike uses a smaller 285mm front disc brake, paired with a 240mm rear disc brake similar to the one found on the Adventure model.
For the Indian market, KTM has opted to equip the 390 Enduro R with the same suspension setup as the 390 Adventure, offering 200mm of front and 205mm of rear travel. This change results in a more manageable seat height of 860mm, compared to the 890mm on the international model. However, ground clearance has also reduced slightly, from 272mm to 253mm.
The rest of the package remains unchanged from the global version, featuring minimalist yet functional bodywork, a compact TFT display, and a 9-litre fuel tank. Tipping the scales at 177kg, it’s around 5-6kg lighter than its Adventure siblings.
In terms of pricing, the 390 Enduro R will be positioned between the 390 Adventure X and the standard 390 Adventure. Its main competitor in the Indian market will be the lighter, less powerful Kawasaki KLX230.
