Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to introduce the much-anticipated Xpulse 421, with an expected launch timeline of early 2026. The company first hinted at this upcoming adventure motorcycle during the 2024 EICMA Show in Italy, where a teaser image revealed a glimpse of its design.

According to sources, the Xpulse 421 is in the final stages of development. Near-production test models are currently undergoing trials at Hero’s Center of Innovation and Technology (CIT) near Jaipur, as well as in various northern regions of India.
This motorcycle is built on a brand-new platform and features a 421cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine housed in a trellis frame. The power output is expected to range between 35bhp and 40bhp, with a strong emphasis on delivering robust low-end and mid-range torque for improved off-road capabilities.
On the hardware side, the Xpulse 421 is likely to come equipped with an upside-down front fork and a rear monoshock with preload adjustment. The front will feature a 21-inch wheel, though the motorcycle is expected to run tube-type tires.
The Xpulse 421 is set to challenge rivals like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 390 Adventure, and the upcoming TVS Apache RTX. Pricing will be a crucial factor, and Hero MotoCorp may adopt a competitive strategy similar to what it did with the Xpulse 200. However, despite its efforts, the Xpulse lineup has not achieved the sales figures the company anticipated. While Hero dominates the entry-level commuter segment with high-volume sales, premium adventure motorcycles require a different market approach. To establish a stronger presence in this segment, Hero will need to refine its strategy and position the Xpulse 421 effectively.
