BMW has officially taken the wraps off the R 1300 RS for international markets. Essentially a faired version of the R 1300 R, this new model brings a distinctive and purposeful look to the table. Its aggressive front fascia is highlighted by twin LED headlamps, while the side fairings have been crafted for a clean, streamlined appearance. The fuel tank has been seamlessly integrated with the fairing, giving the motorcycle a well-balanced and cohesive profile.

At its core, the R 1300 RS houses a 1,300cc Boxer twin-cylinder engine, producing 145bhp at 7,750rpm and 149Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. This powerplant comes paired with a six-speed gearbox and a standard bi-directional quickshifter for smooth gear changes both up and down.
On the technology front, the R 1300 RS is loaded with advanced electronics. It comes equipped with traction control, cornering ABS, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and three standard ride modes — Eco, Rain, and Road. Additionally, riders have the option to unlock Dynamic and Dynamic Pro modes for an enhanced experience. All these features and settings are accessible through a vibrant full-colour TFT instrument cluster.

When it comes to the chassis, the bike makes use of a sheet metal frame similar to the one found on the R 1300 GS, with the rear subframe sourced from the R 1300 R. The suspension setup includes a 47mm USD fork up front and a Paralever EVO system at the rear. Braking duties are handled by dual front discs and a single rear disc.
For those seeking even more versatility, BMW offers the option of Dynamic ESA electronic suspension. Notably, the front fork features adjustable spring rates — a first for a production motorcycle, further enhancing its appeal.
BMW Motorrad India is expected to introduce the R 1300 RS to the Indian market in the coming months.
