BMW Motorrad has officially discontinued the G 310 R and G 310 GS models in India. As per recent reports, both motorcycles have been out of stock since January 2025, with no fresh inventory being supplied to dealerships. Notably, these models were available with discounts of up to ₹50,000 until the end of December 2024 — hinting at their eventual exit from the market.
These two entry-level BMW bikes have reached the conclusion of their production run, and the company has opted not to upgrade their engines to meet the current OBD-2B emission standards. Most dealerships across the country have also confirmed that they no longer have any remaining stock.
That said, the third model in the 310 lineup — the G 310 RR — continues to be available for now. However, its future remains uncertain as well. TVS, BMW’s partner in developing the 310 series, is expected to introduce a new 300cc engine, first showcased last year. This engine is likely to debut on an upcoming TVS adventure motorcycle, which could eventually lead to the discontinuation of the G 310 RR too.
Looking ahead, BMW has confirmed that the all-new F 450 GS will be launched in India later this year. This adventure bike will feature an all-new 450cc twin-cylinder engine. While not officially announced, there’s speculation that this engine could also be used to develop a street-naked version and a fully-faired sportbike. The F 450 GS will be manufactured in India by TVS, which could give it a competitive edge in terms of pricing.
