Between April 2024 and February 2025, the e2W segment, including scooters, motorcycles, and mopeds, achieved cumulative retail sales of 10,18,300 units. This represents the first time the segment has surpassed one million units in a single fiscal year, showing a 26 percent YoY growth over the 8,08,162 units sold during the same period the previous year. Additionally, sales have already exceeded the total for FY2024, which stood at 9,48,511 units, by 7 percent, with March 2025 figures yet to be included.
Among the 75,995 electric two-wheelers sold in February, Vahan data indicates that only three manufacturers exceeded the 10,000-unit sales mark. The top 10 EV manufacturers together sold 71,202 units, accounting for 93 percent of the total industry sales. Over an 11-month period, Bajaj Auto’s cumulative retail sales stood at 1,95,651 units, reflecting a 121 percent YoY increase and a 19 percent market share for the fiscal year to date. These figures have already surpassed the company’s total retail sales for FY2024.
In calendar year 2024, Bajaj Auto recorded its highest-ever annual retail sales of 1,93,439 Chetak units, demonstrating an impressive 169 percent YoY growth compared to 71,941 units in 2023. Based on current sales trends, estimates suggest that Bajaj Chetak could add another 25,000 units in March 2025, potentially pushing total FY2025 sales to approximately 2,20,000 units, setting a new fiscal-year sales record.
