The Hero XPulse 210 Rally bike, developed by the Hero Factory Racing Team, made its debut at the Sjoba rally. The team has made several notable modifications to the standard XPulse 210, and it’s expected that many of these changes will be carried over to the production-spec Rally Edition, although in a more simplified form. Here’s a detailed look at the modifications.
For the rally setup, the factory team replaced the standard headlight with a smaller unit and removed the bike’s instrument console. Other adjustments include a thicker, rally-style seat, while the handlebars remain stock but are fitted with aftermarket hand grips, simpler rally-spec switchgear, and shorter levers.
Additional changes include compact mirrors, larger knuckle guards, and rally-spec footpegs. The bike also features a tough-looking engine bash plate and an extended side stand, further enhancing its off-road appearance.
In terms of mechanical upgrades, the rally bike is fitted with long-travel suspension. It includes an adjustable inverted fork mounted on an RCB triple clamp and an aftermarket rally-spec monoshock. The rear suspension linkage has also been modified. The wheels appear more durable, and the bike is equipped with block-pattern tyres from Maxxis. To improve braking performance, the bike features petal disc brakes paired with Brembo calipers and brake lines.
For the engine, the rally bike has been upgraded with aftermarket coolant piping to ensure better cooling, which is essential for the extreme temperatures encountered in rally racing. It also features an upgraded chain-sprocket kit, likely with revised gearing, and includes a new chain guide and finger guard. The exhaust has been rerouted, and the bike is equipped with a Norifumi Rocket-4 exhaust end-can.
Overall, the bike presents a rugged look, and Hero has incorporated elements of this rally-spec design into the production XPulse 210 Rally Edition. The road-going version, which was previously spotted, appears to be a more subdued variant of the rally bike. However, the road-legal version will likely have different components to keep the price competitive. Performance-wise, the XPulse 210 Rally Edition will likely retain the same engine, a 210cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder unit that delivers 24.8PS and 20.7Nm of torque.
