Honda India has introduced the country’s first motorcycles equipped with the cutting-edge E-Clutch technology in the middleweight 650cc segment. Developed by Honda Motor Company in November 2023, this innovative system allows riders to start and shift gears smoothly without using the clutch lever, as it automatically manages clutch operations in motorcycles with multi-gear manual transmissions.

The newly launched 2025 Honda CB650R and CBR650R mark a major milestone, becoming the first models in India to feature this groundbreaking technology. Designed to suit both relaxed cruising and spirited, sporty riding, the E-Clutch system enhances convenience by minimizing rider fatigue while delivering an engaging and responsive riding experience. It offers a perfect balance of control, ease, and excitement on the road.
Retaining Honda’s signature Neo Sports Café styling, the CB650R flaunts a bold and minimalist design with a round LED headlamp, sculpted fuel tank, and an exposed steel frame, creating a rugged yet sophisticated streetfighter appearance.
Powering the CB650R is a 649cc, liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder engine that generates an impressive 94 bhp at 12,000 RPM and 63 Nm of torque at 9,500 RPM. Paired with a six-speed gearbox and Honda’s E-Clutch system, this setup ensures a dynamic and hassle-free ride. The motorcycle also features premium hardware, including Showa’s 41mm Separate Function Fork Big Piston (SFF-BP) upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock, delivering superb ride quality and handling.
On the other hand, the new CBR650R takes a sportier approach, showcasing a track-inspired design with sharp lines, aerodynamic fairing, and an aggressive, forward-leaning stance. Sharing the same 649cc inline four-cylinder engine and performance figures as the CB650R, the CBR650R adds Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) for improved traction and stability, especially during spirited rides or challenging road conditions.
In terms of pricing, the 2025 Honda CB650R is priced at ₹9.60 lakh, while the new CBR650R carries a price tag of ₹10.40 lakh (both ex-showroom).
